Does ARC Power bring data centers into communities?

• No. ARC Power does not recruit, site, or develop data centers. Data center projects are initiated and approved at the local level by developers, property owners, utilities, and governing bodies. Communities determine whether and how these projects move forward through their own zoning, planning, and permitting processes. ARC’s involvement occurs only after a project is established, where we provide power supply and market services to ensure reliable and efficient energy management. We do not influence where data centers are built or whether they are approved.

Aren’t cryptocurrency miners all foreign entities that pose a security risk to our system?

• No, ARC works exclusively with domestic companies that operate just like any other legal business in the United States. Their equipment is certified and they always run through all applicable permitting processes.

Are data miners reliable when it comes to bill payment?

• Yes! The mines we work with are financially viable and willing to provide a security deposit or other financial assurances so you know you’ll always be paid for the energy you provide.

How loud are data mines?

• Air cooled data mine fans can be quite loud, around 80dB at the site. The sound dissipates quickly, but placing data centers outside of residential areas is ideal. In areas that require noise reduction, mines can be located inside buildings or utilize other, quieter, cooling methods.

Won’t data centers limit my utilities ability to expand?

• No. Data centers provide your system with increased load and revenue right away that can provide the income to finance future projects and system improvements. Often times the revenue generated from data center additions have allowed utilities to hire more employees, purchase trucks, or upgrade problem feeders.
